Cedar Lake Speedway is proud to announce that Viebrock Performance will be the sole distributor of Goodyear tires in 2009 at Cedar Lake Speedway.  Kevin Viebrock, owner of Viebrock Performance, is currently one of the parts vendors at the track and will now have Goodyear tires added to his already extensive stock of racecar parts at the track and at his shop located in Somerset, Wisconsin.  In the past, revenue generated by the sale of Goodyear tires was used to supplement the track’s point fund.  This newly formed partnership still allows profits made from Goodyear tire sales to supplement the record-breaking $25,000 point fund in 2009.

Having Viebrock Performance take over all aspects of the Goodyear tire program including ordering, stocking & selling will undoubtedly make it easier to purchase tires as well as provide excellent customer service to our racers.  Viebrock uses the Goodyear tire weekly on his #50 NASCAR Modified at Cedar Lake and has vast knowledge of how the tire works and can help with tips on their use. 

Viebrock Performance is located north of Somerset, Wisconsin at 591 205th Avenue or can be found at Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday evenings & Kopellah Speedway on Fridays.  Kevin is open weekdays from 6-9 Monday thru Thursday & 10 till noon on Saturdays.  Kevin encourages anyone with questions or concerns to contact him directly by phone, 715-247-3666.

In addition, Goodyear has made a few changes to the tire used by the lower divisions at Cedar Lake Speedway.  First, the tread pattern was changed slightly from a parallel block pattern to a staggered block pattern.  Second, the tire will now be stamped G65 a slightly harder tire than last year’s version. 

In 2009, the Late Model division may use the G45, a slightly softer version of the G50 tire currently used in that division. 

Cedar Lake Speedway recently returned their entire 2008 tire inventory to Goodyear.  The new tires have been ordered and are currently being shipped to Viebrock Performance.  Kevin will have them on Tuesday March 31st for immediate purchase. 

With these changes the tire rule at Cedar Lake Speedway in 2009 will be:

Late Models: Goodyear G45 & G50, Hoosier WRS2-55, American Racer 56 Spec Tire.  Grooving & siping allowed.

Modified: Goodyear G60 & G65, Hoosier E-Mod H40, American Racer G60 & KK704  Grooving allowed on Goodyear & American Racer.  Outside groove only may be grooved on Hoosier.  All three brands may be siped. 

Super Stock: Goodyear G60 & G65, Hoosier E-Mod H40.  Grooving & siping allowed.

Midwest Modified: Goodyear G60 & G65, Hoosier E-Mod H-40.  Grooving & siping allowed.  Note: Goodyear 8” G60 is also allowed.

Overall, Cedar Lake Speedway believes these changes will continue to meet the expectations of the Goodyear short-track tire program; economically priced, competitive with other brands, extended tire life and continued re-firing capabilities.  Cedar Lake Speedway is excited about the 2009 season and its sophomore year under the NASCAR Home Tracks banner.
